Frequently Asked Questions

Below you can find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding SellTheHorse.com

While the following FAQs are helpful and informative, we strongly encourage you to read our [Equine Marketing Guides].

What is SellTheHorse.com?

We are not a web classified. We are a total equine marketing solution for quality sport and show horses in all disciplines. Think of us like a personal marketing and advertising department for your sale horses.

Our company was founded by sales and marketing experts, who are also active in their respective horse communities. We offer the seller many innovative high-tech and low-tech solutions for reaching potential buyers.

We harness the Web and old-fashioned print media. We offer the buyer a Virtual Horse Visit™ from the comfort of their home - it's the next best thing to being there!

It's a comprehensive and professional approach, which gets faster results.

How much does your service cost?

We offer a Basic and a Full Service option.

The cost of our service depends on whether the Seller is willing and able to provide his own photos and video footage of the sale horse. Please refer to [About Our Services] for current pricing.

Is there a minimum listing or asking price?

Yes. In order to utilize our services, the horse's asking price must be at least $5,000. It's not that we don't love all horses, in all price ranges, but there are several other services that provide solutions for horses priced below $5,000.

Our focus is to partner with amateurs and professionals who will benefit most from our comprehensive approach to selling.

How do I contact a seller?

To contact a seller directly, go to the web page for the horse you are interested in, and at the bottom of the each page is a section called "Contact Seller".

You can send them an email directly from our site. If the seller has given permission, their phone number will also be listed.

We have also included a Google Map link to show you the exact location of the horse (on the Location tab).

Does SellTheHorse.com make a commission?

Does SellTheHorse.com make a commission on the sale of any horse listed with your service?

No. All advertising and promotional efforts conducted by SellTheHorse.com are done on a flat fee for service.

Professional trainers and equine brokers may wish to use our services as an additional marketing tool, but we do not collect a commission.

Do you offer a discount for multiple horse listings?

Absolutely. Please refer to [About Our Services] for the latest promotions for multiple horse listings for both the Do It Yourself and Full Service customers.

If you are a professional trainer or broker with multiple horse listings, you may also call us to discuss a custom program if we have a sales rep in your area.

Can I list my horse if I don't have photos or video?

No. Our approach to equine marketing is to provide the buyer with a more comprehensive look at sale horses via the web; the Virtual Horse Visit™ is our signature program, and therefore photos and video are required.

In order to avoid wasting buyer's and seller's time, we provide as much information as possible, including high quality photos and video of the horse's conformation and discipline.

As we grow our business, we will have Horse Hub Managers™ that will go out to farms to do this work for the seller. You can also refer to our [Photo and Video Tips Guide] to help you get the best results.

Do you have a sales rep in my area?

Our business model is quite different than anything else on the market. We employ Horse Hub Managers (our sales reps) in specific geographic regions to go out to horse farms and do all the work for the seller.

Our first Horse Hub launch is in Aiken, SC. But we're expanding rapidly! Please contact us if you think your Horse Hub should be next.

How can I apply to become an Account Manager?

This is a great part-time or full-time sales opportunity. These positions are commissions-based from Full Service account sales in a specific territory.

There are certain qualifications for these positions, some of which include basic knowledge of the horse industry, sales experience, strong communication skills, competent photography and video skills, a laptop and a high speed internet connection.

If you are interested, please send an email to jobs@sellthehorse.com with "Account Manager Position" in the title; your location and your qualifications.
